Many families experience their first neonatal consult during a stress filled time. The birthing person may be on bedrest (in the hospital or at home), they could be on an antepartum unit, they could be preparing to deliver, it could be immediately after delivery, or it could be after the neonate has been admitted into the NICU. Either way, ALL very stressful times for our families. A lot of information is provided in a short period of time and updates can happen quickly or slowly. In the NICU families should be updated in regular intervals as well as when new information is learned (i.e. change in clinical status or new diagnostic results). Many NICUs do amazingly at providing families with such crucial information. Although there are times when information is provided but not a time when families are able to process. Sometimes families do not understand the information being relayed or they can forget the details. Families can also forget what questions they wanted to ask. These are the reasons Neonatal Consults was created. The goal of Neonatal consults is to support families on their NICU journey. It is a space to receive support regarding what to expect, what questions to ask, and how to proceed forward.

No, Neonatal Consults does NOT require access to electronic medical records. We ask for information directly from the family. We are designed to support you! So, the information/knowledge you have, will assist in navigating your journey. If the family has access to a patient portal that information is appropriate for consultation.
Do I have to sign
a medical release for access to electronic medical records?
The introductory consultation
is FREE. It is a chance for you to investigate if Neonatal Consults is appropriate for you and your family. The subsequent consultations
are $50 per each 30 minute consultation.
What is the fee
